He took the helm at Galatasaray on September 30, 2013 replacing Fatih Terim. After the experience in the Italian Serie A and the English Premier League, Roberto began a fascinating new challenge as coach of the most successful and popular Turkish club. Mancini - assisted by lawyer Silvia Fortini of Studio Fortini in Rome - signs with the company of President Unai Aysal a contract until 2016. Galatasaray have played in their own stadium - the Türk Telekom Arena - since 2011 and boast one of the fullest cabinet trophies in Europe: 19 first places in the Süper Lig (the Turkish first division championship), 14 wins in the Turkish Cup (15 with the one won under Mancini), 13 wins in the Turkish Super Cup, one UEFA Cup and one European Super Cup, in addition to as many as 16 participations in the Champions League and three in the UEFA Cup.

"I accepted with great pleasure because this club is playing in the Champions League and has a great history at European level," Roberto introduced himself to the very warm Galatasaray fans with these words. "I was fascinated by the idea of a very different experience from what I have done until now, in a different country. They are very enriching experiences, not just from a professional point of view but also from a personal one".
