The day after the League of Nations’ success over Poland, beaten 1-0 (scored by Biraghi), the Italian Football Team, trained by Roberto Mancini, has been received at the Quirinale to celebrate the 120 years of FIGC, Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio.
The head coach Mancini, who visited Quirinale with champions such as Chiellini and Buffon and memorable players as Zoff and Rivera, declared to be very proud to shake hands with the Head of State Sergio Mattarella “It is thrilling to be here at the Quirinale, meeting the President of the Republic. Today is even more exciting than yesterday night”.
During his speech Sergio Mattarella has praised the azzurri: “Pertini and Napolitano have witnessed the World Cup triumphs of 1982 and 2006, I hope my 2022 sucessor will have the same chance and I find it possible given the brilliant match we watched yesterday. I feel optimistic for the future of the National Football Team”
